Shane Catiel started dancing hula and tahitian back in high school in 1992. After high school, Shane joined the Navy and spent four years on tour. He left the Navy in 1996 and came back home to his home in Hawaii. After returning, Shane started working at the hotels dancing at Luaus for Tihati Productions. In the Fall of 1999, Shane was asked to apprentice to be a Fireknife Dancer. Later that year he did his first show. Since then he has never looked back. After taking a little time off Shane is back in action again.
The Maui Marathon is proud to have Shane Catiel as one of two Fireknife Dancers that will perform at the beginning of the Half Marathon and Full Marathon.
