2012 Maui Marathon Printable Entry Form

Come join in the celebration of Maui’s 42nd Anniversary Maui Marathon, Maui Half Marathon, Maui Tacos 5K Run/Walk, and Run Forrest Run Front Street Mile Race Weekend.

Maui Marathon is recognized as one of the most scenic courses in world with its point-to-point route starting in Kahului, passes moonlit sugarcane fields and hugs the spectacular Pacific coastline for over 17 breathtaking miles.

Feast on views of the cobalt blue ocean water, its rolling surf and Maui’s neighboring islands of Kaho’olawe, Lana’i and Moloka’i.

Your journey’s final miles will take you through the historical fishing village of Lahaina before finishing near The Westin Maui Resort & Spa, race headquarters, in the world-famous Ka’anapali Beach Resort home of the Whalers Village.

The popular Maui Half Marathon features a flat, out-and-back course that traces the final 6.55 miles of the marathon course. This festive 13.1-miler starts at Whalers Village in the Ka’anapali Beach Resort, passes through Lahaina, turns around at Launiupoko Park and returns to Ka’anapali.

While on Maui, enjoy the island’s 727 square miles of outdoor adventure combining luxury with simplicity like no other island.

Maui is an island destination where you can take pleasure in exploring its beautiful scenery, sleepy towns and some of the world first class resorts that coexist with Maui’s rich history and culture of Hawaiian mythology.

The scenic beauty, friendliness and efficiency of the event draws repeat runners annually.

MAUI WAS NAMED “BEST ISLAND IN THE WORLD” BY CONDE NAST TRAVELER MAGAZINE FOR 15 YEARS

The Hard Rock Cafe 10k Is Here!!!!

I would like to announce a brand new event to the Maui Marathon weekend. The Inaugural Hard Rock Cafe 10k.

The historical backdrop of Old Lahaina town (once the capital of Hawaii) provides an alluring setting, with a lush tropical locale beyond compare and local sights that’ll blow your mind, including Haleakala, “the House of the Sun,” the world’s largest dormant volcano. From our cafe’s quiet garden-style oasis, drink in majestic Pacific vistas, get a close-up glimpse of whales on their migration paths, or just sit back, relax, and enjoy the airy look and feel of our glorious open beam, A-frame ceiling. Marvel at our various island-inspired memorabilia, including an entire wall dedicated to surfer greats Derek Ho, Brock Little, and Kelly Slater. So when the surf’s down, or even when it’s up, get on over to our most exotic location around- the Hard Rock Cafe Maui!

The Hard Rock Cafe 10k will be held on September 15th at 6:30am in front of Whalers Village. It’s an out and back course and 95% flat. There will be 4 aid stations on the course and it will be chipped timed. Award ceremony will begin at 8:30am at the Whalers Village center stage. The top three finishers in 10 year age divisions will get medals. Top overall finishers will get awards and prize money. Check out our website for more details and course map.

The Hard Rock Cafe 10k is now part of the Warrior Challenge weekend. Those doing the Full Marathon Warrior Challenge will now have to do the 10k, Mile, and Full Marathon. The Half Marathon Warrior Challenge runners will do the 5k, Mile and Half Marathon. Please see website for start times and start sites.
Those runners doing the Warrior Challenge will receive 2 medals, 4 different t’shirts, and other possible awards if placing in your age division in other events. Bling Bling.
Runners doing the Warrior Challenge will also attend the ‘Ulalena “Pa’ina”. This is for Warrior Challenge runners only. The event starts right after you run the Mile race on Saturday. So don’t worry about what you look like. Walk over to the Maui Theatre. Appetizers and dinner start at 5:30pm and show at 6:30pm. Included in the Pa’ina are appetizers, pasta dinner, free drink, dessert, and performance. It’s your right of passage to be a WARRIOR. You can bring one guest for free and any additional guest after that is $25.
