BUBBA GUMP MAUI TO BE MAJOR SPONSOR OF FRONT STREET MILE

Rudy Huber, Director of The Annual Front Street Mile in Lahaina, has announced that Bubba Gump Maui has become the major sponsor of the Front Street Mile. The name of this year's event will be The Run Forrest Run Front Street Mile. Bubba Gump plans to be a long term sponsor of an event that has proved to be a great community event for the kids and a world class event for the nations top milers. Adults of all ages and running abilities are invited to join in the open or masters division fun!

Join in the fun, September 13th starting at 3:00 pm at Bubba Gumps (check-in is at 1:30 pm in front of Bubba Gumps.) to watch or have fun participating in the Run Forrest Run Front Street Mile!

David O'Meara, the creator of www.OneMileRunner.com, is expected to run the front street mile in the open division. David inspires people through his experiences and hands on approach to personal development. The summer of 2008 will be no different, as he takes to the road to complete a feat he is calling 20/20/20<5@45. That’s completing 20 one mile races in 20 weeks in 20 different North American cities in less than 5 minutes each at age 45.

Course: The course is a one mile race down Front Street in Lahaina (half mile down and half a mile back). The starting line is fronting "BUBBA GUMPS". The start time 3:00pm sharp for the youngest runners. All finishers receive a t-shirt and finisher's certificate.

Entry: The entry fee is $20 for adults & $15 for youth , Race day entry, $25 for adults, $20 for youth. The fee includes tee shirt and a finisher certificate.

Divisions: Sub-bantam, Bantam, Midget, Youth, Intermediate, Young Men/Women, Open Men/Women, Masters Men/Women, Olympic Development

Awards: Medals for the top 10 in all divisions. Prize money for Olympic Development Division. Open Men/Women will have a chance to win $500, $250, and $100 for 1st thru 3rd places.

Registration: Registration for the Youth and Open divisions at the Maui Marathon Expo at The Westin Maui, Friday from 1:00-8:00pm and Saturday, 9:00am-12:00 noon.
